Godfrey Gu is a designer born and raised in NYC. Growing up in the city, he got to experience a wide range of art from a young age stretching from museums and galleries. Artists like Mondrian and Rothko had a huge influence towards him coming into high school where he attended Fiorello H. Laguardia Arts. However he wanted to branch out to less contemporary and more experimental designs later on in the years. He wants to create designs that can satisfy the pallet of the average consumers whilst experimenting in thinking outside the box in which it can have a lasting impact on society and their views on design or what is capable in design. Now newly graduated from Parsons School of Design and majored in Product Design, most of his projects/inspirations are in the realm of minimalism with hints of experimental and vintage design crossed with contemporary art.
